I think some of you are mixing personal bias with reality. Dorian wouldn't even have a chance on stage with Ronnie. No matter how 'advanced' his pictures are, he never stood a chance against big Ron.
Albeit, I agree Dorians english skills are far superior to Rons...
but last time I checked the Mr. O didn't have a spelling-bee round.

OT- its weird how lee haney is almost never mentioned among the "greats" when he is the only man to win the olympia 8 times.

No one comes close to Ronnie, not now at least. I've met this beast of a man in person, total respect for him. Sheer size is unbelievable. Freaky genetics.
I wonder if BB would of been different if they awarded the likes of wheeler, levrone and ray for their physique rather than mass.

you should examine his pics from 93' and 95' to be specific
93 he had the total package, 95' he had a partial bicep tear but I have never seen anyone EVER come in that dry or cut........EVER.........

I have to agree with some of the comments that some of the pro's have gone too far, its not all about size "imo". I loved the old style bodybuilders, especially Franks Zane's symmetry.

While Ronnie has more mass, Dorian has always had more hardness to him come contest time. I personally think both physiques have their strong points. Sheer mass isn't everything if you asked me.

You can't compare its different times in bodybuilding they were all top of their game at that period in time & thats all that matters Arnold, Coleman, Yates, Haney! They all set new stardards in bodybuilding from Arnold to Haney to the freaky size Dorian showed & to Coleman now! If you could put them all on stage together at there peaks & access to all the drugs top pro's have these days i feel the winner would be the guy who wants it the most, what a show that would be!

i will agree Ronnie is the man, and unbeatable at that. The dude is up to 300lbs at competition, thats game over. But i still believe that Arnold is the best overall bodybuilder ever, his physique is ideal to me.
i would NEVER look like ronnie.

But my personal answer to the question posed would be Yates, EASILY.
Coleman is so shitty looking to me. His genetics are freaky I agree, but in a nasty way... His abs are so asymmetrical. They don't line up from left to right. His chest has weird diagonal striations and his gyno is pretty great too lol! I mean one could say that he can't help these things but isn't that what this contest is all about? Judging genetics? I mean if there was some huge ripped guy, jammed beyond what coleman is but he had a natrually pear-shaped physique he wouldn't win, would he? Why Coleman wins I don't understand.
Yates on the other hand was huge but still tight. He didn't seem to sacrifice the fine tuning just to put on an extra 10lbs of gyno to outweigh everyone else... He's fairly articulate as well
And on a personal level, I think Coleman is a hipocritical piece of shit. How many people do you think he jammed up as a cop for drugs or drug use? Now he's Mr. O...

I love Dorian. Not so much for his physique, but for his mind set and militant like training and nutrition. His back was the best up to that point in the history of bodybuilding. However Coleman would smoke any bodybuilder past and present. There's just no comparison. I like Coleman from 1998 and 1999. After that he started losing it.
Ive always liked arnolds and labradas physiques the best, just my opinion. Dorian and Ronnie are just too friggin big..They have to have a hard time wiping their ass'.

IMO Levrone's physique was nothing short of perfection. but ill admit ronnie is the man. you guys sound soooooo biased. like X said, be realistic.

I'd have loved to have seen Dorian vs Ronnie late nineties if Dorian had never retired through muscle tear. He would have stepped it up a gear and the two would have been awesome. I think Ronnie would have had to wait a little longer for the Mr O but would have edged him eventually.
Personally I found Dorian a bit dull and not a great ambassador for the sport either.
Levrone mixed classical with mass monster and I think was awesome. Serge Nubret is right up there with Arnie as my favourite from the golden years... in pumping iron 40 years old... awesome.
