Here's an article from my local paper about a controlled delivery. Granted, this is for mushrooms but could be applied to other things:

ATTEMPT TO POSSESS DRUGS: Undercover police officers delivered approximately two pounds of illegal mushrooms to a home on the 600 block of 16th Street Monday afternoon, but did not make an arrest.

The ***** Police Department received a call Friday afternoon from a detective from Eugene, Ore., who said he had intercepted a mailed package addressed to a ***** man that contained more than two pounds of illegal mushrooms.

The package was delivered to the ***** Police Department. Undercover police officers delivered the package to the man and required him to sign for it.

Officers then retrieved the mushrooms from the man, but have yet to arrest him.

The mushrooms were valued at $3,200.

Apparently they do try to get you to sign for the delivery. Strange that they didn't arrest him. I guess even with a signature they still have a weak case.

That's probably because in the Eugene/Springfield area mushrooms are pretty prevelant (as are many other fun little items ).
