don't open anps with hand

Ya so I was in a hurry yesterday and instead of breaking amps how i usually do i decided to just snap it with my hands

I never saw this coming but when i snapped the amp ... the top portion of the amp in my hand of course was very sharp after breaking.... and from the momentum of snapping the amp, the top piece of glass slid over one of my knuckles.

It sliced through the skin very deep... stitches deep

This has got to be the most dumbass thing thats happened when opening amps.. maybe i should get an award?

Now i cant workout for days because the deep cut is on my finger and it will reopen if i do

*oh and this was an HCG amp* I wouldnt of done a quick snap with pure liquid in it

Been there done that ... olny most often it was the amp that collapsed and the top stay'ed in place .

Think you olny need to fuck up one or two amps before you learn not to open them by hand again .. LOL

I've always snapped them by hand. The trick is to pull upwards and to an angle as you snap and the top will literally making a loud pop sound and come off clean as a whistle.

if u need to open it by hand... wrap the bottom part with scotch tape and then throw a towel over the top part and pop it off... those glass slivers hurt bad if they get in your hand...

Taping helps a lot as does scoring the surface at the most narrow area of the neck.

The biggest mess I made was with the getpinz opener.

I'm going to try SF's method in the morning.

Right. All docs I have seen do it this way-by hand. I haven't ever seen them use a amp opener. Its all about in the knowing how to doing properly.
