Don't be this person..

Seashell

El Kabong

The person who gets home, notices they have no messages on their answering machine, but sees a number on their call display, and then CALLS the number, and says "Hi, you called me?".

 What the..??? WHO does that?? First of all, if the person wanted to leave a message, they likely would have. Secondly, if the person dialed a wrong number (in my case), you then have two completely confused morons on the phone that don't know each other, having a ridiculous conversation. GRR!

weird girl: "Well your number is on my display."
Me: "Well, I don't know who you are.."
weird girl: "What's your name?"
Me: "What's YOUR name, you called me"
weird girl: "I only called you because you called me"
Me: "I DIDN'T CALL YOU, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!"
weird girl: <hangup>
Me: (into dial tone) Dumbass! <hangup>

:D There, that's my story. Seriously though, who has time to call back the numbers that appears on their call display?? Madness.

lol that happened to me yesterday. Twice!!!

To the same number. lmao

My wife and I just got 2 new cell phones and I`m trying to remember the #. So I dial one digit off... While the phone is ringing, I hang up cause I realise it`s the wrong number. 10 seconds later, A woman calls me "Yes?, Did you call me?" I tell her "Yes, I realised it was the wrong # while it was ringing, So I hung up, Sorry".

woman "Oh, That`s OK"

Then about an hour later I call the same # again. lol A guy answers this time. I said "Sorry I must have the wrong #", and hung up.

They probably think I`m stalking them. lol

I now memorized the # and will NOT make that mistake again.

Had I been you, I'd have invited her over for some steamy sex. But hey, that's just me. And probably everyone else on the planet. Way to screw it up.

Yes! Also very annoying! :)

Or when the first thing they say is .."I found a paper with this number on it in my boyfriends coat pocket... who are you?" That makes for an awkward conversation as well.

THAT is really bad. It`s rude if you ask me.

We would get calls with no messages and hang ups all the time.

Sometimes they would be my g/f's son's friends who did not want to talk to his parents. It was our responsiblilty to know who her son was associating with.

Other times they could possibly have been to do with the drugs my g/f was using. I would try to dissuade anyone offering her crack from phoning again.

Of course, I would call the numbers back.

I used to do this to random phone numbers with my buddies when we drank.

When i see IM names that i don't know on my "who has viewed your subprofile" list i often add them and then IM them. The first thing i say is, "Do i know you? You looked at my subprofile."

:)

Everyone knows I don't answer the phone unless the number is in my cell's phone book, so I never have this problem.

If it's important they can leave a message. My friends know this - sometimes they call from a different phone and they know to leave a message and I'll call them back.

I do it, if its to my cel.

Why? Cuz I'm curios as hell. No telemarketer should have my cel number, so I know its not just some marketer.
So I usually call the non-message leaving bastards back.

I'm sure he gets a wrong number every now and then.
Prob. the highlight of his week.

Call the number back, put some porn on, turn the volume up and leave the phone next to the TV!

HIJACK! HIJACK! HIJACK! HIJACK!

Can anyone remember the name of that movie about the wrong phone call and the falls in love with the girl just from the sound of her voice and sets off to find her?

The Pigman, It was a book.

If it is like a jealous spouse calling and getting all weird, man that bothers me!!

"I saw this number on my wife's cell phone"

what's your point numbnut!

I hate it when that happens!

I think next time I am going to ssay, "what is the number" when he tells me..."oh yeah that is that sexy Milf I met at the WalMArt...she didn't say she was married!"

um..why is that so weird? I know lots of people who NEVER leave messages, including myself. I guarantee you know at least a couple of people like that. So the only way to to do is call back and find out.

Well that makes sense if you recognize the number, but who calls a number they don't know?

I tried calling my buddy from my girlfriends house. He didn't recognize the number but called it back anyways. Well me & my GF had already left, so that left her parents & my buddy (both of which had no clue what was going on) to chat. Needless to say tempers were flaring after a while.

This is one reason why.

maybe it's just me but my friend/associates alot of the time end up calling me from a # different than their own(work, other person's phone, etc).

point is....there are exceptions to the rule

same people who have time to post the entire story I suppose.

What I hate even more is when my parents call me and leave a message saying "call us back." Well, once I saw the missed call I would call them anyways. I even told them, but they keep leaving a message like that everyday.

Or when someone leaves a message with "It`s me" or no name at all.

Sometimes the recording is different than the person`s voice, So you have to play detective a little.

Wouldn't it be funny if she actually mis-dialed the number on *her* display and called you by accident?

A never ending cycle of telephone weirdness.

They do call them telephones up there in Canadia don't they?

For about a month in the year 2000 I would get 3 voicemails a day from some woman that would leave long and very detailed messages all in some Asian language.

I suppose what is worse is that I would listen to them and nod my head thinking "mmhhmmm, oh? okay... yeah? no! alright, okay bye!"

You have to wonder what she thought when my voicemail was in English and I never called her back. I wonder what she was saying.
For all I know she was some political prisoner crying out for help.

This is from another thread, I`ll paste it.

"lol That reminds me, I once got a message on my cell phone by some guy explaining for like 3 minutes why he can`t come to my wedding. He`s telling me how he`s having troubles with his girl, he`s really not doing well, He`s sorry, good luck anyway... on and on...

I called the guy back and left another message on his machine telling him he called the wrong number. Just to help hime out. It would have sucked if he saw his buddy again and he told him wtf happened to you?"

From now on i will always call the number on display. And say "Hi, Seashell?" There just might be a chance however little.
