turns out he was correct, it is mostly eurpeans and french guys.
they should leave him alone. he's great to watch.

Since the stats came out proving his statement was accurate, I was hoping he'd demand an apology from everyone who ripped on him during Coach's Corner last night.

I will represent the good side of french Canada, and say that I totally agree with the previous statement.

He said that only Europeans and French guys wear visors. I love that his statement was true. It was blown way out of perportion. It was turned into some sort of racist comment when that was never really what he meant by it.

they are also going after him for saying that drug use in minor hockey is only in the quebec junior major hockey league

I think he phrased what he was trying to say incorrectly. Drug use isn't limited to the Quebec league...BUT...the Quebec league has the most highly publicized problem with steroid use. So much, that kids in Midget were juicing with alarming regularity. In fact, the Quebec Midget AAA league now has testing, in a pilot project run with the Canadian government. I'm pretty sure that was what he was alluding to.

Which is true and shows how smart both are. Go ask Bryan Berard how it feels to get a hockey stick in his eye...

with how many high sticking and puck-to-the-face injuries there's been lately, i'm surprised that more players aren't wearing visors at the minimum. full-masks (like at the jr level) would be an ideal solution. didn't some player get his visor shattered from a puck recently?

fuck, with how much money they make, i know i'd want to protect my career as best as i can.

I don't know about roid testing but i know they want to test for stimulant like ephedrine and "enhancing drug" like creatine.

For the visors, I don't know if the number's I heard are true, but the count was:
25 canadians
24 french canadians
40+ europeans

So true

I wore the cage with the visor built in when I played. The main gripe about visors, is that they fog up too much and too fast. Took me a while to find one that wouldn't fog on me.

I got hit in the face with a high stick in 12th grade. The fucker caught me right across the chin gaurd so hard that the gaurd sliced my chin open causing me to have to get 10 stitches. Had the cage not been there I would've most likely ended up with some missing teeth, a broken jaw, and broken nose.

The pros know the risks of playing without visors, and should be able to control what they do with their sticks. Obviously not all do though.

After a recent injury to Owen Nolen, and ofcourse the Brian Berard injury, a couple Maple Leafs tried to use the visor.

Maybe if the europenas and frenchies played their man more, they wouldn't be so succeptible to puck strikes in the open ice.

I wonder who's the got the best players on the ice actually...
