Does your job challenge you?

and if so, how? Does it make a difference or is it just a paycheck? Does it help other people? Does it really?

Does it challenge me? Yes, when called upon to troubleshoot, but most of the time is hangtime waiting for something to break.
It's a good paycheck
It helps others by providing the printed news on a daily basis.

I use to find my work challenging and somewhat rewarding, anymore it is just a paycheck.

 What changed, work or you?

I pretty much programmed myself out of existance in my current job.

Further, I didn't get the VP of IT because the management at the time thought my plans to scrap all these different data platforms for one system and go all oracle for data management was too radical. Dumb asses.

My job is quite stressful and certainly keeps me busy-- but I couldn't do it forever. For now it's insurance and a paycheck. I'm going back to school starting in mid spring though and will hopefully end up doing something more fulfilling.

It is challenging beyond belief. All 4 jobs are actually.

What are you Jamaican?

LOL 3 of them are my own businesses sir.

If I were Jamaican I'd have minimum 7 jobs.

50% of the time I am bored. 40% of the time, things are just right. 10% of the time, I am fucked. If people were competent, my jobs would be bliss. 1/2 of my work is correcting mistakes that idiots make. Then people wonder why I don't make small talk with them.

My last job was without fail the easiest job I've ever had. Only like 15 hours a week though. I wont be working there in January after break though (it was at my university). I need a better paying job so I can achieve some of my goals.

I'll always be self-employed to some extent. I plan to open businesses, etc. But for now eBay is cool in that it gives me a C-note or two each month without really trying. If I stepped it up, I could prob. make $250-500/mo.

Also If a certain D1 B-ball coach wasnt being an asshole about his players signing autographs, I'd probably make a few extra g's over the next 3 months. FUCK!

You wanta job that challeges you??

Buy your own business. Every day is a personal effort and the money is not going into you bosses pocket from your hard work. Believe me you work ethic and enthusiasm are constantly challenged.

I started teaching in a inner city school in September........it is slightly challenging, yes :)

I do sometimes wonder whether I should get a job that could be just a pay check..........

my place of work is a festering shithole run by morons who don't possess half the intelligence that I do..... my goal is to start my own business.....

I can relate to that.

sometimes it's challenging...After my last jump and my 1st one since jump school I have been feeling the urge for something a bit tougher....who knows maybe I can kiss ass my way into going to Halo some day

on the brighter note my opportunities of me being able to go back to school this fall look good as long as I'm not deployed this Spring. I want to become an Officer because I feel that I can do better then the petty shit I am doing now.

Sometimes it just pisses me off that people now days can know so little about computers. I mean real basic level things like how to get their computer to print at the office printer...My NCO can't take much more so he's training another NCO in my shop to take his place when we get back from NTC in Feb.

The pay isn't great so I'm not doing this for the paycheck...The gym here is nice so making my transition back there will go better since I wont have to pay any gym fees
