The sugars used to make distilled spirits, like dextrose in beer, are converted by yeast from sugars to alcohol. Thus most distilled spirits (ie gin, vodka etc) have 0 carbs, but still have calories from alcohol. Wine does have some carbs however, as does most beer.
That was my point. It may not directly be clasified as a carb but its still empty cals.Stillgoing said:
Good info. Point remains the same, its got calories that you have to count if your counting your intakes (don't know why you'd be drinking on a diet, but, besides the point)...

Stillgoing said:Yeah but the alcohol has carbs. So you look at the label of a low carb beer and you see something like:
0 Protein grams
2 carb grams
0 fat grams
100 calories
Where did the other 23 grams that arn't listed come from? The alcohol. Are those carbs? I don't know, but, its not protein or fat so it might as well be....
The labeling is a scam IMO....
