Does this bother anyone but me?

That right there is a great use of taxpayer money. We need it for the National Endowment of the Arts. There's a shortage of violin strings.

With the price of fuel, the opportunity cost of the involved labor and 5 minutes I wasted online....how could it not bother me?

you really think they made a special trip just for the cat , i honestly doubt it . it was prob around where they were pickin some people up and got lucky

True Hotzie, the SAR swimmer probably scooped the cat up as he was coming up with a rescued person. Gotta admit tho, that looks like a standard Navy Times style propaganda photo :)

exactly , the media projecting their version of reality

It's about the rescue of life, human or otherwise. If that was your cat, would it bother you that some idiot stated that it bothered him?

I believe that the helicopter that crashed was part of a private animal rescue effort.

Is that the report now? I looked at that helo, looked like a retired Coast Guard rescue chopper. Probably one of those groups bought it and fixed it up.

That is what I am hearing as of right now. There will probably be new reports soon as some this stuff gets sifted through.

It should bother you then that Bush flies around in air force one at the tune $6,900 + per hour for fuel costs (oh and that's before the recent fuel hike).

Standard "feel-good" photo op. There was always someone around shooting those. Kids, puppies, kittens ... pallets of food with USA on the side ... grateful villagers ... The soft side of rescue. This is always in the budget and takes the heat off the bodies.

We'd always pick'um up because is was humane and kept us human ....

The men with guns shooting at the Rescue crew can stay in the shit. Their seat goes to the cat.

I think its cool to save the pets and what not, but only after all the people have been saved. I hear a lot of people were forced to let their pets run wild or to just euthanize them.

Think about, its going to cost millions to feed and house these people, why add pets tot he mix as well?

That dude'll probably get some mad pussy for that pic. (no pun)

I will agree whole-heartedly to both statements.

But I doubt he's going to ride to the site in a Honda Element even with all else considered.

Maybe on horseback though........he's from Texas.
