does the military test for AS??

Take this as expert advice. I will leave it at that. They will not unless your commander directs the tests. Keep it to yourself, never tell even your buddy. Keep allot of protein powder around and let people know your in the gym and working hard.
I know of many people who do it, and some higher ranks then you will believe.
I was buddies with our substance abuse Officer when I was in. Basically, they'll only test you if they have the suspicion of you actually doing it. Military people tend to have big mouths and the walls have ears if you know what I mean. Don't tell anyone, and you should be good. You get into a tight unit, you tend to find out who juices and who doesn't real quick.

I'm ARMY, they only test for weed and street drugs. They will NOT test for AAS unless you basically come right out and say you are using them, then they will be obligated to test for them. Basically, as long as you keep your mouth shut, it doesn't matter what they think, as the regular piss test doesn't test for AAS.
The military really doesn't care whether you use AAS or not, esp in the Army and Marines, when you've got a higher physical demand placed on you. They don't encourage it either, it's kind of unspoken if you feel me on that, holmes.
There is a seperate test for AAS than other drugs, and yes it's quite expensive and prohibitive, so it's not likely they would do it.

I was a military child growing up around Airbases in Europe. The USAFE gym was always the busiest and best in the area.
Do the airmen juice? YES!
I shared the squat rack one day with a Spec Ops helicopter gunner who looked just like Paul Dillet. He squatted 3 sets of 10 with 455lb. The gyms always had dumbells up to the 150's and there were dozens of HUGE ripped guys that would use them for presses and rows.
I was niave at the time and decided that if those men could get so big without the roids (because they must be tested - right?) then I could too...

Back in 1986 a lot of Sailors in the San Diego area where messing themselves up with the stuff they were getting from TJ so they made them illegal to possess or use. Probable cause is the only way I know the Navy tests also. I was too paranoid to use while on active duty. I retired in 1998 and have done anumber of cycles since then. One positive and you gone, same as any controlled substance. All anyone had to do was admit to using and it didn't even take a piss test to get them kicked out, admitting it was enough. I had to have one of my workers kicked out because he self admitted to me his drug use. Watch what you say to anyone.

fulforb- you had a battle buddy kicked for comeing to you with his drug use? did you offer any help? did you ask him to see the chaplin? i'm not sure i need buddy's like that.
While stationed in Germany, I knew of a handful of guys that juiced. It was pretty obvious too. I mean a 5'9" guy that weighs 245lbs. at 6% BF just ain't that normal. They never got tested. I also had a commanding officer that used to compete that juiced also. Of course he never got tested. Like everyone else said just keep it on the DL, & you should be ok. Just make sure you keep your room clean if your in the barracks in case they do a surprise inspection. You don't want bottles of gear or syringes anywhere they might get discovered.

kahbab - You obviosly don't understand the military at the higher leadership levels. If someone comes to you with information that they have done something illegal, you have nochoice but to pass that information onto the next step in the chain of command. What they do with it is up to them, but if it is found out that they also knew this and nothing is done than they can also be brought up on charges. If it is my carrer or someone else, I'm sorry but I won't let someone else cause me to be kicked out. I had 73 people I supervised and it isn't anything you have a choice about. You don't take someone to talk to the chaplain about roid usage, suicide yes, drugs NO.

I was in the Navy pre and post sept 11th and all I have to say is that the drug tests are pretty relaxed I never failed one and I smoked weed time to time even days before a drug test. All my buddies smoked as well and none of us got caught I heard the only thing they will nail you for are things like coke,ecstasy,heroin,meth.
