Does such a website/application exist (re: info management)?

Like most of you, I vist a bunch of websites daily to read about various topics. I would LOVE to have a customizable web page or application that organizes all these websites or even tops story feeds from these sites all into one manageable screen.

Does this exist?

(if not, consider this bitch copyrighted)

Web browsers have this thing called "favorites" and it lets you organize the websites you like to visit. lolllolllol....

Okay, anyone with any form of original thought whatsoever and with the ability to comprehend verbal communication above and beyond "geigh" and "lol"?

Heatherrae likes to put a lot of time and effort into her posts. Want me to go grab her and see what she has to say?

I'm talking about one fucking website, like a myspace, but not for desperate men and fat chicks. Let's say I peruse the below websites daily:

wired
espn
sports business daily
giants / yankees
nypost
cnn

This site would function as an all-in-one news center for me that is completely customizable - so I could "choose" to have feeds from the above sites all on this one website. "MyInfo.com" or something like that.

'Bout the closest you can come to that would be to set up all those sites as a "Tab Group" in your browser, so that when you push one button all six sites load up simultaneously on separate tabs. IE7 will do that for you, dunno about Mozilla or Opera although it would be silly if they didn't.

I like your idea about a user-customizable portal site though.

Yeah, I'm surprised this type of site/application doesn't exist yet. Knowing nothing about the technology that fuels these news sites, I would imagine the bigget hurdle would be the different platforms each runs on and finding a way to get daily feeds from all different sites to live together happily on this MyInfo page.

That's an extremely helpful and intelligent post, jh1. You are SOOOO amazing.

Why not tell me more?

It's the most helpful fucking post so far, and likely to be unless someone googles RSS for you and cuts and pastes.

How about you fucking follow up with google and figure it for yourself you big fucking baby?

Wait. I thought I was on ignore. :worried:

Oh good, so your post is 100% meaningless and you have nothing of value to contribute?

Alrighty then (you are on ignore, sweettits, but thought "maybe" you would have something usefull to say in this particular thread as opposed to shouting something out and not discussing it in the least bit, thus proving you don't really know anything about RSS, just that it exists and is 3 letters)

Meaningless if your too lazy to go look up RSS.

I know plenty about RSS, but there is no point in me regurgitating it to you here. If you're interested ur gonna have to figure it out. Have fun. Or not.

Google desktop or even google startup page can be setup to do most of that as long as the site has a rss feed or some other method of reading from that site ....

I use to have a google start page that listed news and posts from at least 10 sites that I commonly read .....

OMG, you had better set this shit up for Killahbe and write a manual. kthxIminsecure bye.

jh1, you don't know enough to explain, that much is clear. that's a 4th grader's approach that you're using. "I know, but I'm not gonna tell you!! nanananaan!!!!". smooth cover-up, guy.

Was it difficult to set up? So pretty much the necessity here is that the sites I peruse need to have RSS feeds available?

thx

Not a cover up at all, but there is NO FUCKING POINT in me explaining RSS to you or anyone else on here. I know enough to use it as a client everyday, but the the concepts - how to use it, how it it works, etc, etc, etc - are all better explained by other and sources that are freely available on the internets.

First thing I'd do if I was willing to go out of my way would be to go cut & paste because I know someone has already invented the wheel - no need to redo it.

Geezuz...

Like having to explain the concept of a newspaper to a 3 y/o....

Just go fucking look it up instead of being a complete jackass?

Well a) there is a simple and nice way to go about saying all that. When people ask me for training or biz advice - even if it's somewhat obvious to me - I am happy to point them in the direction of helpful resources. But then again, I don't feel the need to gain some faux sense of "I'm better than you!!!" on the webs.

B) what basic wonder typed took 3 seconds and was more helpful than the minutes you have spent spewing anger on all your posts in this thrad

C) tits

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to PuddleMonkey again. he's probably sucking off some junior high summer school football team kid anyway
