does rep speed matter?

I think that all exercises should be done with as much force as possible, explosively. Not cheating though. If you are looking to add size just do more reps.

You also have to look at which muscles are being used and the exercise too. It might take me 2 seconds for 1 squat where as I can do 3 shrugs in that same time. Really comes into play when you are comparing 12 rep sets.

by my knowledge and experience:
1-5 rep range is strength
6-10 rep range is mass
12+ enduranceish

but u cant make it that square, because people are different and reacht differently
allthough a key point is, if you want to be bigger you must become stronger
