Does newbie karma ever add up?

Just curious because I've had several people with under 100 posts give me karma, but it doesn't add up, we only get grey worthless bubbles from it.

Was wondering if when the newbie eventually gets 100 posts, if the karma is retroactive, and all of a sudden it all gets added to your total karma.

Anybody know?

I don't know. I've been stuck on 9 karma points for awhile now.
