Does exess Testosterone age the skin faster?

I read this quote on a hairloss forum and i was wondering if this is true?

"I already knew from viewing pictures of female-to-male transexuals, nameley shooting a woman up with testosterone will age her quite rapidly and that testosterone (and its metablolites) are the reason that men age in their facial (and proboaby scalp) skin so much faster than women do."



Is this true? Because im taking drugs that raise my testosterone and im scared of this. Is there any truth to this? Because if so im dropping all drugs right now. I am waking up with bad bags under my eye since about 1 week starting Dutasteride and i get 8 hours sleep. I never got this before. Anybody have any info on this? Thanks!

I dont think thats true. I think men have better skin than women actually. They wear a lot of makeup to cover it up is all. Maybe you have bags under your eyes because you are not getting a restfull nights sleep.

Extra test use will cause you to have oily, rougher skin, however this seems to be temporary and will stop once you're off cycle. Consider the case of male-to-female transexuals - they usually have very smooth female like skin due to estrogen and lack of testosterone. Just more proof of how powerful hormones are.

actually androgens support skin structure and integrity. which is a great part of why men dont get cellulite as easily.

estrogen does make skin look softer (in part because water and fat look softer)
