Does EF move slowly for anyone else?

Seems like it has its moments but most of the time it runs sloooooooooooowly. I'm afraid to run a big search on it. I can only imagine how slow it would be if I was dialing up.

Yes I noticed it's real slow at times. Sometimes it takes minutes to post. But I think it's the server the site resides on, not your connection. The speed would be the same regardless of how you accessed it.

George needs to shell out some bucks for a better server.

it is the slowest site on the net.
They must be using a fuckin commodore 64 for a server.
 
i can walk away from the monitor, go to the washroom, go get water, come back, and it'll still be trying to send my reply...

speaking of which, i have to go powder my nose *flutters eyelashes*
 
yep. I have a DSL connection and its taking longer and longer for the boards to load. Especially during the day.

George needs to buy another server. (so all of us freeloaders can continue to freeload)

By the way, I was going to say this on some other thread, the accents thread, but I'm too lazy to find it now. I picture you speaking like Claire Forlani, do you know who she is? She was in Mallrats and Meet Joe Black. She is beautiful and very classy. ;)

it is all database based, and it is getting hit by many people.
the larger a database grows, the slower it becomes to search (well... sort of).
so you have more people hitting an ever increasing database - so over time it will slow...
unless they have a database for old stuff and a more current one - then archive stuff over every N days or something...

but it seems to me that something might have a memory leak in there (*cough*mySQL*cough*) and then they have to reboot and it is fast again until the leak builds up to a failure point again.

or it is the work of the devil.

or it could be their ISP sucks my D and B's. As for the database, they don't archive very much, like two years ago max, if I'm not mistaken.

I have no idea what you just said man. What would you suggest doing to fix it?

I was thinking about using the green dbells at my gym...what do you think?
