Does eating raise your body tempature?

Surely I should know this with all the biology I've had, but I'm not sure. I always feel like I need to turn the air up a notch after I eat.

Yes and this is especially true with carbs. Blood is rushed to the stomach to digest/breakdown the carbs into simple sugars which in turn creates a slight increase in body temperature. At least I think that's how it goes

I also think eating increases metabolism which makes the body work, which inturn causes heat.

Happens to me ALL the time

yes, it does increase your body temperature. You ever notice how when you get warm, you get more relaxed and sleepy? Well, im sure its happened once to you, but after a huge meal, you'll feel pretty tired and just wanna nap. This is because of the increase in body temperature (and im assuming the the work being done to digest maybe).

ive been dieting down since 1.april. and when i have a cheat meal i certainly feel the heat, i even start sweating sometimes. maybe its just cuz im excited i dunno :D

I was under the impression after you eat you should feel cold cuz all the blood is going to your stomach to help digest or something..

Eating in small portions several times a day will help with a moderate increase in your base metabolic rates however eating a large meal in one sitting, no matter what it is, is akin to putting a huge log on a pile of embers. It takes for ever to light and might kill off what fire you have going.

To you a small portion is probably 2 steaks, 3 baked potatoes, and a dozen rolls. ;) My portions are getting larger and larger. You wanna be big, you have to eat big.

Of course its all relative but you get the gist of what I'm saying....

I've had an omellett and 3 chicken breast today and 2 protein shakes. But I'm dieting now.
