Does drying destroy clolthes alot faster?

I dont use a clothes dryer to dry my good clothes only things like pajamas and old clothes.
For me I noticed that when id stick my cothes in the dryer they would shrink and look ugly much faster.
so now I just leave them out to air dry.

anything that i wouldnt want to see shrink get wrecked i always air dry
workout clothes and stuff always hits the dryer

Yes, using a heat dryer, be it electric or gas powered, will wear out your articles of clothing much faster.

It's a pain in the ass, but I hang dry a lot of my clothing now; the exceptions being socks, underwear, gym clothes, and old stuff.

As an example: I have uniforms for work (I'm a firefighter/paramedic, we wear dark blue station uniforms) that look as dark and crisp as the day I was issued them---and this is 2 years later.

The ones I used to heat dry were well-faded and worn in less than a year.

your fabric will pile in a tumble dryer... i'd say 50% of my nice clothes are "hand wash only" which sux but it keeps them looking newer

I hang dry many items
then toss them in the dryer with like colors of wet stuff
I figure they're already dry,but the tumble will loosen them up and remove some washer lint
the good stuff always goes to the cleaners

Yeah I think it does damage the fabric alot. Usually shrienks mine as well as making it rough.

If the sun is around dry them outside. Much healthier.
