thats it right?

another question. is there wireless for your computer screen, keyboard and mouse? or is this a stupid question?

are you asking if there is a wireless monitor?

yeah hey sponge i stream audio all over my house... what sound card do you use?

yea see i dont know too much about all this, so im just thinking outloud.

but this is what im wanting to do.

i have my pc with alot of my cd's on the hard drive and plan on putting all of them. so i wanna stream it to all areas of the house but have control of the play list or whatever from each location. is that possible?

i dont know what sound card im using. im just now thinking about this. just wondering what my options are.

see right now my puter is close to my stereo that i have in my game room. so there i could actually just run audio cables to the amp right?

but for my bedroom and master bath i would like to also have this available. with control in each room if possible. that would be the shit.

sound blaster makes an adapter for this, you dont need a tv for it either. youre looking at several hundred for the source and then 2-3 adapters. it is well worth it if you want control of the music from all rooms.

If you have a decent stereo or sound card you should be able to filter out most of the trash, but its been my experience that 128kb mp3s just dont sound good through a home stereo for some reason....

i will dig up the link for you...

like a laptop? sponge.

speaking of laptops. i went to ebay and saw laptops for sale(used) for as low as 125$. that would be a great source for a stereo right? have thousands of songs on it for playback.

how is the control done from each room. how do i see my playlist or whatever on my pc?

you could run the line directly to your stereo, but i dont think you mean you would be hooking it directly to an ''amp''. (terminology differences probably)

the remote has a screen on it!
you would need an adapter for each room or just to have one laying around you could hook in wherever you went.

for your gameroom you could just hook it in, depending on what output your sound card has it may sound decent.

Stereo 1/8" headphone to stereo RCA's
Can get the adapter @ any radio shack

here's what I use to process my wireless music. i have a different setup for streaming it, i just put my laptop wherever i want to listen to it and stream the data from a network attached storage drive hooked into the wireless network

ok, i think i understand. you stream the info from the storage drive( that would be my pc or hard drive) to a wireless adaptor at another location, then using your laptop you play the music.

so at this point then i would need the wireless system and a laptop right?

isnt a laptop capable of enough storage to just use as a source? meaning i could have a stereo setup in the locations i want and then just take the laptop to the location i wanna access all my music from the laptop.

ok, the remote has the screen on it. that sounds like what im trying to conjur up in my mind. so then i could just use that one remote for each location. and each location would have a stereo. and the renote is part of the wireless system recieving info from my main pc.

yeah, thats what i do. I just have a ridiculous amount of music, almost 40 gigabytes. streaming it from the attached storage drive through the network just allows anyone who wants to use it to use it.

so to answer the question: yes. you could use it as a source easily. here's a good notebook card...

the processing this card offers (as well as 7.1 channel out if you want it, or optical out) is excellent. it makes music sound a lot better than with the stock card on my tablet

close, but backwards...

the remote controls the adapter... the adapter is what you would need at every location...

the advantage this system has is that you dont need a tv, you can see what youre going to play from the remote....

ok. this can be badass.

and the sound card is critical for good sound quality?

maybe. if you have a $2000 receiver for your stereo, maybe not. That card has completely impressed me though. I've had it for 3 months or so

i had an old desktop 266mhz computer i put with my stereo system, put a wireless network card in it, and then using win xp i used remote desktop to access and play files off that hard drive. could access it from my laptops or my other desktop. worked excellent till the motherboard crapped out

yeah

just using a laptop with a soundcard with the music stored on the laptop is much more practical for multiple locations.

that adapter would be exactly what you are lookin for otherwise, well most likely anyways. some people can fuck up some really good stuff. lol jk bor.

awesome!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like i might be leaning towards the laptop option with a good soundcard. i think i can pick up a used laptop pretty cheap. this is way better than those stupid 200 dics carasel thingy's. plus i can have my music in every room.

heres a good question. again my pc is close to my gameroom, so i need a descent sound card and jacks for that. and its close enough to just control play selection at the desk.

but what is you could run wires very easily from room to room. is there anything that you can use to 'control' the play list from the other rooms thats hardwired to the pc?

hey i dunno if there are any PDA's or aftermarket remotes that would reach that far. would be interesting to find out.

that remote looks badass. thats infrered right? that would be badass for sitting in the jacuzzi tub and play music.

and you use the same remote in each location?

i think you use the same remote for every location. (that would make sense to me, lol)

that is an awesome idea. creative labs did good not requiring a tv for their system. D-link has a system that can stream dvd media to and from anyplace on your network, if you wanted to use a tv instead of just music (although the dlink is a first generation product, i dont konw if i would trust it)
