does anyone know what 'miami chic' dresscode entails?

i'm going to a new years party at a lounge/club on southbeach and my friend told me to dress miami chic, does anyone what this means? can i wear designer jeans? or will i need slacks and a jacket?

This answer will come too late for your soiree in South Beach, but having a property down there, I know exactly what Miami Chic entails: dressing like a whore, but making a point of not charging like one. I know, sad right? South Beach has a vibe and fashion sense of its own. Miami Chic means lots of flowing skimpy fabrics, high heels, big hair. Colors, colors, colors. Versace, Versace, Versace. Pick any of Paris Hilton's looks and you will fit right in.

Oh my God, I just realized you are a male! All the above goes for you as well... But if you want to tone it down a little, then white suit and black shirt, black shoes will look very Miami and very chic.

to all the people bashing miami beach, you are dead wrong. The problem with this country as far as fashion is concerned is that one out of 10(that might be generous) guys know how to dress, and people are so afraid to dress with a little flair because they will be labeled as gay. Most of the people talking shit have no personal style and/or coudln't pull it off. Fashion in miami is refreshing and perfect for the culture..

I used to live on south beach. I had an ocean front apartment on Collins Ave. I had a great time! ;-)
