Does anyone know the laws on selling a pistol?

just sell it, make sure the buyer is 18 or over
varies state to state...in FL private citizen to private citizen all that is required is a bill of sale that you can do yourself, i would have it notarized(sp) if you don't who you are selling to...you can then send notarized copy of the bill of sale to FDLE who will change ownership info on NCIC computer (all handgun serial #s are tracked on this computer)

This sounds like an easy way to get a handgun for people with proir records.

in indiana, selling a gun w/o one is a class B misdemeanor. barely a crime. i have no idea what you're state's laws are
however, if you sell the gun to someone who, according to state &/or federal law shouldn't have access to a gun (convicted felon, someone under 21, illegal immigrant, etc.). it becomes a more serious crime. a class C felony here in my state.

Im only 20 and I know that you cant sell a pistol to anyone under 21,but you can sell a shot gun or a rifle to an 18yr old. Read a Law book at the libray before you sell the gun to be sure of what you need to do since it is registered in your name. Just my 2 cents

It is. I had a convicted felon offer me a price for a gun that was 3 times what the gun was worth. In my state I could have sold it to him without legal trouble. He was a violent guy so my conscience told me not to sell it.
