Don´t do futures. You´ll get yourself in big trouble.
If i recall it correctly, you don´t need actually money but some securities, like a house and that stuff.
They are like options, except that you don´t buy them. You buy for example a call and sell a put. If it goes the way you want, your call will be worth a lot and the put you sold will be worth nothing, but if not you will have to pay a LOT for the put.

It's basically a crap shoot, however, if you have a large endless flow of capital to begin with as Wodin stated, you do have a chance by going with the long-term trend. Starting with little and amassing millions is almost impossible...yeah, go to Vegas.
BTW Selling options is a better bet rather than buying them....

Options arent there for making money, it is all devised as a hedge..Like take a company that needs shit loads of corn. They will play the game of futures to their favor just incase the price of corn goes through the roof. That way they can get their corn at a reasonable price while others are paying much more..Options are kinda like insurance policies..
People on their own trading options are like people day trading...its very hard to make money and you will loose 90% of the time. Long term investing is the way to go....and its cheaper for tax purposes too.
