I don't know about iPhone's, but for a droid, just plug it into your comp with a mini HDMI cable, and open "view folders". iOS will be right there and easily viewable.

Just tried that.

The folders are empty. With no visible or hidden content.

I think snapchat keeps the files on their sever, and send a "read only" version of the file from their sever downloaded temporarily to your phone for read access of the alotted time, then it is wiped from any common drive on your OS as well as their servers.

Apparently it requires digital forensic tools to recover the files.

Never used it, but I couldn't care less whether pics can be saved. I heard SnapChat is popular among teens so as to send pics that they don't want saved, so I see a big surprise ahead for a lot of teens! Nothing is erased forever online.... Ever!
