I know why I don't go over there that much. They drive me insane with their constant complaining and other stuff.

no, they have nothing to bitch at me about , i have a job and they dont have to help me with anything

my dad sometimes gets on my nerves. A lot of times he is bored at work and he'll be calling me every day to talk about nothing. Seriously - nothing. He just gonna be asking: and whats new? What can be new from yesterday till today when you called again!!!

whew...I feel better now

Some people just love to talk. When I don't have anything to say, they get disappointed.

I dont mind the talking (well, sometimes I do, I hate talking on the phone), I hate it when someone calls me and doesnt say anything, but expects me to tell them stories and stuff...grrr

Yep. they want you to entertain them.

dude, fuck yeah. Y'all are lucky.

I'm watching this movie and my mom decided to join. So, I run out of the room without pausing the movie to go refill up my bottle of water or use the bathroom about every half an hour. She says "damn do u have to go every 2 seconds or what" and it really pisses me the fuck off. I hate when people exaggerate. I don't fucking use it every 2 seconds, thats impossible. So I simply say say: "stop lying".... because I don't enjoy talking to her and she doesn't get stuff cuz she's not as smart as me, so I don't go into detail (she'd yell at me halfway through to "shut up" if I explained my points thoroughly anyway), so i'm just like "stop lying" and she's like How am I lying? And just...basically, fighting with my mom gets on my nerves. I want to say something like "go die and leave me be healthy" or something like that.

Also, I cooked dinner it took me like 3 hours total with buying ingrediants and stuff.....it was a chicken burger with cilantro and other seasoning on whole-wheat bread, and my dad kept putting all these condiments on it with a disgusted look on his face after he took the first bite, and acted like it was so painful to eat. I kind of wish he hadn't eaten it cause I REALLY REALLY liked it, and I only made four. He did say thanks for cooking though, so, that made up for it.

but love them anyway.

I do. Just can't stand to be around them for too long these days.

Such language from such a pristine young lady ... I'm shocked

now that im living at home not travelling for work we dont get along, but aslong as im not here to much we get along fine,no real time to piss each other off,Im just in no position to move out at the moment

Instead of saying 'stop lying' say 'stop exaggerating', less likely to start arguing then. It works with my mum anyway . . . who annoys the hell out of me most of the time!

But then saying that, I just ignore my mum when she starts talking crap!

My parents dont get on my nerves as I do not talk to either of them any longer. They are very toxic people. Dont need the additional stress.

I couldnt stand my parents when I was a teenager either. It's their job to do things that you might not like. If you make it through your teen years and you dont hate your parents ar SOME point, they did something wrong LOL

I love my parents (but Im twice your age). I am very lucky to have fantastic parents.

My parents (when they were alive) were very emotionally manipulative and condescending.....so we didn't get along very well....

My parents are pretty good. My dad is pretty distant but we aren't mad at each other. My mom is a little annoying because she doesn't really listen when you talk to her. But its not a big deal.

I thought your dad lost touch with reality due to alzheimers or parkinsons, or some other illness.

Do they complain about you, or complain about each other, or complain in general?

I think I drive them crazy more often than they drive me crazy. They just want to know every little bit of what's going on in my life and I'm not the type that ever really tells anyone every little detail. I'm open about a lot of things but there's a lot I'd rather keep to myself.

I'm on extremely good terms with my mom and dad right now and have been spending an hour or two with them at least once a week for a while. I missed them.

my mom gets on my nerves more than any one else
my step mom is the evil bitch
my step dad is a SOB who thinks every one sucks but him and his family
my dad is ok except when he gives his lectures
my mom in law is awesome
my dad in law is ok at times

He's getting worse but he hasn't lost touch with reality. He has spells where he hallucinates, you have to get him back in reality. It's mainly my mom who just complains in general. It's just rarely a pleasant experience to go there and I have very little in common with them, but I do want to see them from time to time.

I never got a chance to know my father, he died when I was 17 and was extremely sick for quite some years before that ... and when he wasn't sick he was screaming, bitching, or hitting someone. Basically he was the devil incarnate who managed to ingrain some pretty solid neuroses into my psyche ...

My mother ... was a PITA in some respects. She really was cut off from her family and had never made friends, I was her only friend and she could be emotionally demanding (mainly because she was so isolated). If she hadn't been so secretive about so many things from her past I might have been more understanding when she was alive, but she could be very frustrating, too. She was one of those people who would be pissed at you, and would act it, but would give you the silent treatment ... for days on end ... jesus. She was passive aggressive ...

I loved her very much, her death was deeply painful, I miss her every day of my life, but she was a very MAJOR Pain In The Ass.
