No. Going to your significant other's office party is unecessary. The couple I've been to of my husband's, I knew none of the people, had nothing in common with them, and all they did was "shop talk" anyway. Hence the ubiquitous the "misplaced spouse" corner of such parties. I don't make him go to mine and he doesnt make me go to his. We have a mutual respect that way.
