Do you take drugs to "engineer" yourself?

i saw something on tv about how doctors were diagnosing old "conditions" as disorders whenever drug companies come out with new drugs. fifteen years ago, you didnt have adhd, you were dumb and hyper. and you didnt have social anxiety disorder, you were just shy. its like we are making drugs to change anything we dont like about ourselves.

example, take a guy that is:

underweight, depressed, nervous and has add

+

sustanon, wellbutrin, xanax, adderall

=

a different fucking person

imagine how different one guys life (school, work, girls) would be with and without those drugs.

i cant wait to see what new "disorders" we will be able to treat ten years from now.

When technologies enable the body to stay healthy regardless of ones treatment of it I am going to get my grubby mits on a big pile of amphetimines and feel good for life. :p

its good in the sense we can do a lot more for patients. anti-psychotics before the 80's used to leave patients twitching involuntarily and generally whacked out, now to a lesser extent

its also a little worrying as treatment of conditions like depression might be just 'take two pills a day' when other things such as councelling for the root of that depression are ignored, and also drug companies pushing these drugs onto the market and influencing doctors to give them in the future
