how can steel be better? it doesn't matter at all. what's heavy is heavy, and that's what matters. when i'm stuck lifting at home, i've got plastic covered concrete weights....they were free and they fill their intended purpose.

Plastic weights are a bit bulkier which is why I prefer steel weights. Other than that, weight is weight.
