Do you still play sports?

with all the steroids, bodybuidling, dieting, lifting heavy, do you ever find yourself not playing the sports you use to play with your buddies (basketball, football, softball) a drag? I used play sports all the time, and although competative bodybuilding is a sport, most of us here at least the majority don't compete. I have invested all this time in the gym, but now I find it difficult to play with my buddies due to possible injuries and I'm just plain to heavy...any of you combine sports and bodybuilding or just simply find it a drag to combine the two?

I was about to retire from softball after 30 yrs of competition, halfway into my first cycle with test e and deca, I found reason to change my mind. The fountain of youth had me hitting the ball harder than ever before. This led to more cycles, more confidence, and now pitchers make me promise not to hit it at them. I feel like an old bald headed Ty fuckin Cobb.

Yeah, those tren cramps and calf pumps/shin splints kick in when I'm rounding second, so I just stay at second. Usually I'm up there to hit it a quarter mile so I can just jog and smile, like I'm impressed with myself. Too fun to quit.

I think it's time you move up. At higher levels you don't go at the pitcher unless you want your own pitcher to get killed. Sounds like your playing D ball.

Dude, did you read what I wrote? I'm 51 years old, been playing 30 years and you want me to move up? I'm happy to not fall off the end of the bench. I never hit at the pitcher unless he deserves it. My big time traveling days are over, I can't throw anymore and the last groundball I caught was when it was about to hit me in the ass as I was trying to get out of the way. I'm just tickled to be able to still hit at a competitive level.

Props to you--no doubt. I hope I can still play at 51, but more than likely I'll be in a bowling league.
I guess I'm sensitive towards going at pitchers---seen too many get hurt. In your reply/post all you said was pitchers made me promise not to go at them, not that you only do it if they deserve it.
Damm softball is getting dangerous & hate hitting pitchers when I'm not trying. I've seen guys older than you hit the shit out of the ball--scary.

I agree. I used to pitch. I'd have knots on my shins the size of my kids. I would have dreams of shots coming at me and wake up almost pissing myself. I said almost, I'm not that old. But you're right, it is too dangerous for pitchers and I worry about my boys out there. I hit a smart ass pitcher last year and broke his wrist, it was in retaliation but when I saw his little girl crying, I felt terrible, and haven't done it since. It's good to hear from a fellow baller. Are you getting ready for the spring?
