I just bought a 10-pack of vhs blank tapes not too long ago. Why? here's the story:
Last winter when The Ultimate Fighter season 1 started, I called my cable company to order a DVR. They told me that they didn't have any at the moment and they were on backorder. They told me that they would put me on a list and eventually I would get one. I recorded the first episode of TUF over an old tape of "The Blob" (the one w/ Steve Mcqueen).
The next week I called again, only to be told the same story. I rewound the tape and re-recorded the next episode. After waiting about 2 more weeks, I called again. Same story. So I kept taping the episodes over this "Blob" tape week after week. Eventually the season of TUF came to a close.
One day after a few beers I decided to call the cable company and bitch about what fuck-ups they were for not getting my DVR to me. So I did. And, of course, they said everything they could to placate me, even promising to send me free coupons for pay-per-view movies.
Well, to make a long story longer, the last time I called was in May, 5 fucking months after the first phone call. I told them how long I had been waiting, and they said that they would set up an appointment the very next week for installation. I told them to not bother, I didn't want any of their fucking bullshit DVRs anymore, and that Mediacom sucked donkey balls and I don't blame everyone for switching to dish, etc, etc.
So, The Ultimate Fighter season two started several weeks back. My old "Blob" tape has been through so many recordings that there almost isn't anymore sound on it when I record. I don't have a DVR because Medaicom SUCKS!! So, hence, I went to Walmart and bought a 10-pack of blank VHS tapes for my VCR to record season 2 of TUF.
Next season I may just get a TiVo from Best Buy.
