do you stash meat in the freezer?

everytime i buy steak/chicken i always put half in the freezer for reserve
got a good variety of ribeyes/whole chickens frozen, just waiting for the opportune time
feeling of comfort knowing you have a freezer full of good meat in case of slim times

when i was in college i lived in a house w/ 3 other people (some came and left, so new people all the time) for a few years. Well when we all had to move out we found a piece meat that had been in there for what we think was 4+ years. Noone had any idea whos it was so it was left alone.

My parents have one of those big floor freezers in their garage, when my
