seriously, whats the average of/ in comparison to? i would be worried when it came to say voting by the public on certain matters or even more worryingly political parties (ultra right wing for example)

but unless public spending goes wayy up its gonna stay that way

the exact same thing could be said of any subset of any population. you could also say half of elite is below average at XYZ compared to other elite members.

just the law of averages.

lol - yeah, I was thinking that after I posted it.

should technically be "median" I guess, but then it sounds even sillier.

if you have the population placed on a bell curve, then there is the very top point, which is average, and then some range on either side of that, and that is considered average as well.

but you could also consider the entire left side to then be less than average - that one point. I think that is what I was getting at.

OK, well...I'm at my mountain place in NOrth Carolina and my neighbors have CHICKENS and goats and dogs and slack-jawed girlfriends and kids that stand in the road eating dirt.
