Do you rest between legs on stationary BB lunges?

Who has this problem: you rep out a lovely set of stationary BB lunges with your right leg, then switch, but cranking out the same number of reps on your LEFT leg is now VERY painful, because the right leg, which is assisting somewhat, is still full of lactic acid? Owweeee!

Do you rest between right and left legs, or do you just start with left leg the following week (or the following set), to ensure even stimulus and development?

I alternate left then right...etc...never do a full set on one leg.

Last week I finished with Barbell lunges. Did left leg first for 15 and then went to right, almost collapsed after 5, made it to 10, took a 60 second rest and then finished of the remaining 5 on the right.

Next set, started with Right (12) Left (12) and then did Right (3) and Left (3) to finish off, only way I could make it.

I would say, don't rest, but don't Max out your first side, cause if you do you'll die when you get to the other.

I do them on the Smith machine...

my trainer has me do one leg first....stretch...then do other leg....stretching out the quad and hamstring between legs will relieve the lactic acid buildup and you can do other leg justice....
