Do you like to write?

I used to, but I dont really have time anymore - songs were cool to write as I was in 2 bands in high school.

I'm a decent essay writer too, but I gotta be in the mood to do anything creative.

I love to write. I tend to express myself better even in an email than in verbal communication. Which sux because my boss is all verbal -- he couldn't write a coherent statement to save his life. However I friggen hate trying to communicate via text msg on a phone. I type fast so that makes AIM viable, but generally I prefer write my complete thoughts. I tend to write in "stream of consciousness" writing which may appear verbose to some people but it is me I guess.

I don't write "rhymes" or songs or anything, however I tend to come up w/ some good plays on words. To illustrate, one of my favorite radio talk show guys is Dennis Prager (yes he's a right wing conservative & I respect himi for it & his very common sense approach to life) - one of his fav terms is "gravitas", meaning substance or weightiness, or "dignified manner" (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=gravitas). Me, as I IM a friend who also listens to Dennis -- I'm like "grab n toss" w/ the sexual innuendo of grab a guy's thingy & toss him off. Yea its crude but its a pretty funny modification of what amounts to a "vocabulary word" relative to every day language.

Unfortunatey I'm' on my 3rd glass of 2004 Yellow Tail Shiraz & I can't remember any of my other wordsmithing hilarities. But I'm good at it. Really good. Spoofing whatever serious topic you have. Really. Trust me. Seriously.

Yeah, I'm a decent essay writer, too...when I like what I'm writing about and have some creative thoughts/ideas I can actually enjoy writing essays.

Poetry and songs, yes. I love to, such a realease sometimes and I just enjoy it overall, regardless of how bad or good I am.

Yeah, I find journal writing somewhat therapeutic...It's a good way to vent and sort through your thoughts. Maybe writing in some form would help you get through the whole ordeal at home. It'd at least give you a place to vent your frustrations and sort through things.

Im nine inches taller than you :p

Time on the planet makes you more reflective as you go.

I have an outline for a story about a Florida spiny lobster who grows up and goes on one of those long walks you hear that lobsters do. I tried to position it as a children's book, but I hit 2 roadblocks... The first - Florida lobsters tend to be caught during lobster season and have their tails ripped off by some diver who really likes lobster tail on the grill w/ a rum & diet coke -- that is a hard thing to present to a child in a happy lobster story and second, the fact that I can't draw a cute & cuddly cartoon lobster.

Since, I've focused my writing on such things as internet email and online store marketing strategy & product requirement documents.

:)

how much you weigh?

I havent weighed myself in years, my guess, prolly 240-250, maybe 230. Depends on if Im bulking. The lowest best weight as far as ripped for my height with running 6miles a day was 215. That was the best feeling. The worst feeling was heavy steroid shit and I was 300lbs, like a claustrophobic feeling. My best weight is less than 250 for my height meaning my bf is less than 10%
The problem Im facing and just resolved is having a career profession, being oncall at different clinics and hospitals. Think an exam sux now bro, try seeing a patient then writing up an essay test every 45 minutes. And no room for a "B" or youll get sued or at least fuck up a real person's life.
The reality of being able to fuck 14 year olds and work out two hours a day will be a distant memory once you enter the real world.

whoa. reality check.

"do you like to write" becomes a life or death venture.

Very interesting & general props to you BB for taking on that challenge.

I have a 13 page story I want to post up. Any one know where I can host it so I don't fill up this thread with a log ass post (or several long posts)?

I enjoy writing.. but mostly emails and posting, does that count?

SoreArms, I wanna read that shit.

I used to write songs for my band a long time ago. I used to write poetry when I was going through my "I wanna slit my wrists" phase back in HS. I used to write stories that I could never sell.

Now, I just do other things.

Yeah, you should see me go sometimes. I might start writing at 6 or 7 pm and wont stop till 4 in the morning. It's a way to vent but I just like to see what kinda conceptual stuff I can come up with along with how well I can present it.
