Do you incline more than you flat?

I do. Seriously. DB presses I can hit the 110 for 8 or so, but on the incline I can hit the 120s for 10. 30 degree too. Full ROM. Fuggin love it, but don't quite understand it. Anyone else?

Not me. Do you focus more on incline than flat work?

Most people's leverage attachments have them pressing more on flat than incline but there are always a few lucky exceptions.

I think that's pretty rare. You must have some pretty strong shoulders. I like the feel of the Incline movement more than Flat, but I still can't do more. Shit, I can CG bench as much as I Incline. :worried:

I use perfect form also. I do got some good delts, but thats why I go 30 degree instead of 45.

You know people who do 45? Well, I think you are always supposed to go 30 degrees because 45 is too steep to isolate your upper chest.

Agreed, byt I see many idiots doing them at a 45 and arching their back. 45 adds too much delt.

I have inclined more than flat pressed in the past when I was focusing on Incline a lot more and also because my shoulders and tris are so much stronger than my chest.

What angle is the typical pre-set incline bench set at?

I am trying to imagine the one at my gym, I'd like to believe it is 45 degrees..

LOL no, 150lbs more on flat at least.. I stick a step under the bench to take it about 30 degrees and arch on top of that. Smith incline I can rep about the same as free weight flat.. but the free weight is a no-no. shoulder injuries make the incline a much harder exercise for me than flat.

are you saying you should not arch your back?

I'm talking when peole basically do a bridge and their ass comes off the bench. I do arch my lower back a bit tho.

When I did nothing but incline twice a week for a year, yeah my incline was more. Now my flat has surpassed it because now I all I do is flat.

I incline DB press more than I flat DB press, but I BB flat bench much more than I incline BB press :p

And I CGBP as much as I bench.

Well I used to do an open handed flat BB until and injury and since do a closed grip for aa benching othr than incline db. I suppose that is also a factor.

my incline is less than my flat press.....but my decline press is more than my flat. anyone else find that odd?

No, I believe that is the way it should be. Decline uses a shorter range of motion where you do not go down as far (assuming you stop right below your nips) - where it's the easier segment of the lift for most..

I knew a kid who could do 255 on decline and not even 205 on the flat..

Incline more then flat? That must be some tough work. I HATE INCLINE. Now decline I can do more the flat bench but I just decided not to. I think this might be the more likley case for most opposed to incline.
