These have been around for years. Now if you're really good at this you can see 3D TV. Just go into any department store where they have the TV's lined up. Pick 2 with the same size tube that sit side by side and use the same approach. I call it the cross eyed method. Look at the left TV with the right eye and the right TV with the left eye. If you are good and with a little practice the pictures will merge and will be in 3D.

Another thing you can do is take the 3D image that you look at normally and convert it to 2D. Think of it this way. All the photons are arriving on the retina at the same time and the brain assembles it to give it depth using the two views of the eyes along with other data that I call part of the executive software of the visual cortex. I can't explain this one but I can internalize the depth perception into a flat screen view in my head. It's very good for visual clarity. I suspect it's something akin to what birds of prey use.

I've always wondered how the hell they do that. They're pretty cool. Bugs your eyes out, though.

Frank... I just sorta let my eyes relax looking "through" the image. Not looking at it... my eyes even cross a little... Not sure how else to explain it. Don't just stare... I don't think that works.

It takes time sometimes. It took me at least 30 minutes to see that shit when i was a kid. When you get the idea and see the first pic, it gets lot easier.. You just have to look through the pic and zoom your eyes a bit and relax them every once in a while..
