THAT THEY ONLY DO INCLINE PRESS OR THAT THEY DONT DO FLAT BENCH IS BECAUSE THEY SUFFER FROM A FEAR OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DO MUCH WEIGHT?

IVE NEVER MET A BIG BODYBUILDER OR A BIG POWERLIFTER WHO DOESNT DO BENCH.

I actually switched from the flat bench to the Hammer vertical press mainly because that biatch hits it harder than flat ever will. I'll do flat once a month now instead of every week just to keep the feel going, but it doesn't hit you in the pecs as hard as the Hammer does.

WODIN,YOU DONT COUNT.WE ALRADY KNOW YOU CAN BENCH LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER.

not really, it just depends on the individual, there are alot of ways to hit a muscle group...I like to flat bench, but alot of guys who are huge and strong don't like it that much. Just look at Wodin, or Havoc (he is pretty big but doesn't flat bench either)

rotate... I flat bench every 2 or 3 weeks, startt w/a diff excercise every week, flat bench one week, incline dumb bells another etc etc.... but you shouldnt leave it all together, Its one of the best overall chest exercises there is.

Excuse my ignorance. That's the seated vertical press with the slight incline design?

I wondered the same.
if so, that thing kicks my ass.

as do all the big meanies that gather around it.

Due to my shoulder injury, using the barbell on benches really hurts it. I use dumbbells... and some hammer strength for chest... it's probably not as good as flat, I know... but it's all I've got... and my chest ain't that bad.

my shoulders were all fucked up when I was on for awhile - then I got too busy at work and had about a month of not working out or eating right.
then got back in the gym.
lost a ton of size, a little bit of strength, and my joints were all totally healed, as were the tendon strains in my forearms.

so maybe you could use some rest.

Same here, I messed my shoulder up when I was out
with an elbow injury.

Now I find if I use the barbell, it puts my shoulder in an awkward
position, and it hurts like hell.

I get by with db's, with no problem or pain.

I dont do flat bench

i do incline DB, flat DB incline press, but i stay away from Bench (maybe do it once a month)

the next day my shoulders feel sore when i bench, not my chest
it is hard to get a good squeeze with wide grip bench

Im actually wondering if that would put less stress on my shoulders. Mine feel as though they're both about to blow out. Actually have an appointment with my orthopedist next week. It may be irrelevant if he says I have to lay off the gym.

It does provide relief to your shoulders, since it provides more focus on your chesties. LOL!!!

prohormones according to WODIN. I know I need to take longer than the week off I just had. I know i'm going to lose all my size and strength gains. Very depressing.

yes, the hormones I used were also what the pros use :)

seriously though - you lose the size (which for me was mostly water I think) but the strength loss isn't nearly as bad as I would have thought.
and to lift without pain now is very nice, very very very nice. very.

I understand the desire to keep it all, but take the time off, know that you really won't lose that much, and then when you come back on, it all comes back very quickly.

Just eat like crazy and your size will go way up!!

heavy dumbells in the incline, decline and flat will hit the pecs just as hard as a flat bench,. Besides most people don't know how to correctly bench press anyway. I like the bells because they give you a full range of motion.
