Do you guys like being set up with a chick?

Went out on the weekend with friends, and one of my grilfriends was trying to set me up with a girl who is a close friend of her boyfriend. She told me earlier in the night that she wanted me to meet this great chick who would meet us at the club we were going to. Anyway, turns out she's hot as all fuck, but i hate being set up. I don't know whether it's stupid pride or what, but i really do enjoy catching and killing my own. When i was dancing, i could see my grilfriend in the corner of my eye talking to this girl and both looking at me. She was obviously saying 'what do you think of him', then they would both smile and giggle.

I spent the rest of the night with this other girl i met on the dancefloor, and i did talk with the girl my friend was trying to set me up with a few times and just found it difficult to connect, which i put down to the fact that the whole thing was contrived.

I'm being silly, i know, but to me no matter how good looking she is (and she is), it just takes the spontenaeity and thrill of the chase out of the whole thing. When the three of us were talking, my girlfriend suggested that the four of us go to lunch and this girl is like yeah that would be really nice, and i half heartedly said yeah, great.

I would personally never do a setup. If it isn't someone you'd go for out of the blue anyways, why would it work if someone set you up?

But in your situation, I would bring her aside and talk to her, and initiate everything on your own accord, making it clear to your friend that you don't need or want her help. I would just go up to this hot girl and say "look, I know soandso is trying to set us up, but I just wanna say that I'd like to get to know you better, but wihtout her help"

As isaid she's great looking and seems to be a cool chick. I just felt uncomfortable that's all. I think i will play it by ear. If my friend had said nothing to me earlier in the night and just introduced me as a friend, it would have made me more confortable.

I agree, my girlfriend was only trying to do the best by me, but in hindsight, i would have preferred if she went about it differently.
I just like the spontaneous meeting and doing the chasing. That's where the fun is for me.
