I give directly every month to:
- Barnados (UK charity, they organise foster care and they help abused kids in general)
- Amnesty International (they protest torture and false imprisonment, mainly in the 3rd world)
- Cats' Protection League (no-kill shelter from which we got our kitties, so we owe them - SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PET, FOLKS. 7 out of 9 cats or dogs born in the US have to be put down because homes for them cannot be found. Get your kitty neutered. Ok, soapbox is free now (poink?
).
I try to buy my greeting cards etc in Oxfam, who organise sustainable projects like clean water projects etc in developing countries, education etc. And I give all my old stuff to them as well to sell in their shops.
