Do you ever feel uncomfortable around fat people?

Hey, some of my best friends are fat!

I tend to think that the presence of fit people like most of us in the lives of fat friends has its own effect. I don't believe in telling anyone what to do, because they need to make some big decisions to change themselves and big decisions must come on their schedule. A whole lifestyle change is not easy.

Most girls I've been with (incl my wife) have eventually made their "own" decision to become more fitness oriented. Lead by example I guess.

There are a couple of women I've seen at my gym (both now pretty hot). They started out pretty overweight, and got a lot better over the course of a year... but in only one year the job was far from over especially for one of these ladies who seemed to be on the stair climber all the time but still had a lot of poundage below the equator. I wanted to tell her YOU NEED TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO DIET, all this exercise alone can't help you. Well lo and behold she finally figured it out and kept working out too and after like 3-4 years she is totally hot (as is the other one, who is even hotter now and got breast implants too).

Moral of the story is, don't count out a fat chick lest she become incredibly hot later on!!!

These things take time. Someone needs to find an activity they like and get motivated over time to make it more and more a part of their lives. I won't even disagree with the "Richard Simmons" approach or the Susan Powter approach. Getting those sedentary bodies in motion is the first step. The next steps of course - especially diet - are ultimately up to the individual.

By the way diet is the last thing a lot of people learn about, fit or not. A lot of people think they eat ok... there are so many myths about it... even pro athletes have only just begun to pay serious attention to diet. Just look at all the little things you've learned as a BB - I used to think as long as it was protein it was OK (so I would eat little packs of smoked turkey).... it wasn't terrible and I still eat it from time to time, but over time I learned how much sodium was in that stuff... as I learn more about diet the easier I find it is to look leaner without depriving myself... it is truly not easy for a lot of us who have middling genetics to figure out dietary issues... and yes there are people with flat-out bad genetics... congratulations to anyone who takes the first steps.

That being said, I've never been very fat and I fully plan to end this year at 9% BF and 195 lbs at 5'8" so I can relate less and less to fat people.

I guess to sum up we should lead by example and try to be helpful but only if asked.

I usually don't feel uncomfortable, you just have to realize they look to you as their savior who can maybe help them feel better about themselves.

you feel uncomfortable eating around fat people, whats the deal. you gotta eat go and fuckin eat. as for them asking you questions just tell them its all about diet and some type of phsyical activity

Fact: Fat people are harder to kidnap

But I do feel sorta uncomfortable around fat people. Mostly because I hate lazy people.
