stopped by to check on my 70-something health/sight impared mother today...as i was pulling away from the curb, she was standing in the door way waving good bye, as she has done for the last 33 years she has been in that house...for a nanosecond the windshield pillar blocked her out completely as if the doorway was empty and she was gone....

guys ang gals, it was like someone had squirted liquid freon all up and down my spine, making me shiver and shake in nawlinz's 95 degree heat.

words cannot describe how much that nanaosecond upset me.

i was shook up all the way to work. :worried:

Is "presentiments" a word?

I think that this was simply your mind playing tricks on you. She is obviously in her twilight years and you no doubt realize this each time you see her and drive away from her, so that's all.

Word to Moms though. :)

damn maing, i can feel the vibe you felt
is your moms a old school southern belle?

You got the shivers for a reason. I truely believe that. When im working on a trauma patient and they tell me "im gonna die"-9 times out of ten. No matter how hard i work them, they die. This could just be your conscience, but listen to your feelings and the signs. She's 70 something so, im sure you got a few years left. But it does suck to get those feelings. dont let it spook you. Just be thankfull for the "heads up"

yummmm..add in some cpatain's wafers and cheese and some strawberries.... :p

Tell her you love her every day.

The last words my mother ever spoke was to say to me, "I love you, baby girl."

It's hard when they do go.

Awwww....nice.

I had a premonition about my mother too. I've talked about it in the past, but some thing happened and I knew to SPEED home to her one night when she had a heart attack due to the chemo. I had left my sister with her to go to a friend's wedding. Some stuff happened, and I knew she needed me.

I don't know if I believe in "presentiments" ... I'm not sure what that word means.

I can tell you I'm str8 if that helps :)

Yeah, i think that God or whoever the greater being is for you. Shows signs to prepare you for whts to come. That goes with anything in life. If i look back at anything significant or catastrophic that happened in my life, there was always a warning. Whether i liked it or not.

One of my uncles died in a car accident when he was 20. My grandmother called people hysterically crying that he was dead before the cops even got to her door to tell her that he had died. They asked how she knew. She said that his spirit came and knocked on the door.

i totally believe that type of thing.

the day i got into a car accident (it was a miracle i didn't die, or that my car got totalled, for that matter. Got sideswiped at 75 miles an hour, missed the car in the next lane by about 1/2 an inch), my mother called me and said she had a terrible dream about me and she was worried something had happened. my mom never does that type of shit and had no knowledge i got into an accident. it was creepy as hell

I got a call from my parents the other day. It was from their home number which is weird since they use a calling card to avoid the long distance charges. The first thought in my mind was that my Grandma had died. Then just after I got home on Sat I got the call that she had just passed away. So yes I definitely believe in premonitions.

Cheers,

That happens alot and that's really all the proof we need. I had a very spiritual night tonight. The flesh is at war with the spirit.

I have had these a few times and they have always been right and it freaks me out.... :worried:

I think I have premonitions all the time. I get these feelings or I think I see something so I immediately contact the person involved. Usually my wife - and I am wrong everytime. That's a good thing - maybe I am just paranoid.

I know I'll die by way of a car.

I met a woman years ago that took her husband to the hospital for a routine surgery (I can't recall what it was now) but she said that there was something about the way her husband looked back at the house as they drove away, the house that he physically built for her and the way he smiled as if the thought of a good memory passed.

He died due to anesthesia complications and if you ask her she will tell you that he knew he was going to die that day.

I met her because I was a real estate agent at the time and when she told me the story after showing me the house from basement to attic it was difficult not to just ball right there in front her. There was something magical about the house and how you could sit there and just feel their love all around you.

I talked her out of wanting to sell the house.

I had a dream that was absolutely horrible. I won't even write it it was so strange and scary.

OMG you guys are so negative.

Okay, real pagan here who practices divination and all that shit *sigh*

This sort of precognition (which means foreknowledge) could mean the obvious, mom's about to check out. Our higher selves do throw road signs at us. Frankly I've had two of those (both were with my parents). They never made me feel freaked out/scared/upset. They did make me sad with a sense of resignation.

But you know what, it could be your subconscious pointing out that your mother is not immortal. It might not be this year, the next year, or even ten years from now, but someday she will depart this plane and what you felt could have been tied more into the feeling that you should make more time for her in your life now, because the time is finite.
