Deadlifting...

shit I do deads three times a week and fuck up my knee's with the bar everytime...
 
Three times a week? Damn thats alot.

I used to scrap the hell outta my shines doing them. Like to the point of blood running. It looked cool but decided to start wearing sweats.

You do stiff legged or sumu style? I don't get into stiff legged. I like the look that people give me when I am growling in agony with 455 on the bar coming from the floor. There are only a few people at my gym that does them. I had a guy teach me proper technique about a year ago and I started to explode on them. One of my favorite lifts, but I wouldn't think about doing them 3 times a week, that would be rough.

On a good day 3 times. I was stuck on them for a long time and this ex-football player showed me proper technique. Had me lower the wieght a little to get used to it and I started moving the plates hard. I'm about 248 with around 17% bf. I hate the fat. Tried DNP and it almost killed me. After this winter I am going to try again, but not DNP. My squat sucks though, I don't trust my balance.

Squat grab bar (I use straps)
Spread legs (about shoulders width)
Look up
Lean back and explode!

It was the explosion I was missing most, I was struggling too much going up and taking my time. Wieghts are mental. Going heavy hurts like hell but feels soo good.
 
Not powerlfting just an old arnold program

I have good genitics and its just working...even though it is over training in a way
 
I would keep with it then. Deadlifts are awesome, in my opinion the best compound lift. The d-bol will help too. I wish I had great genetics, I buy mine in a vial. Plus I am thirty and that sucks too.
 
I love deadlifts...I think I am pretty strong on them.

The third time I had ever done them, I did 255 for 3...I've got good form, too...

Okay...enough scratching my own back..hehe

Hehe...I am not petite...I am not huge, but not petite. You'd fall over if you knew how much I weighed...lol.
 
I only do stiff leg deadlifts, and no I don't bang my knees doing it that way. I hate the normal way

nah muscle weighs more than fat... i wouldn't consider you petite at all... i'd consider you hot!

Thank you Saint!!! That was sweet of you. Yes, I know that muscle weighs more than fat, but still...it's alot for a girl that is only 5'6" to weigh, IMO.

Hannibal...you know what? I think you have jinxed me cause the past week, I'll bet that I have had about 5 people come up and ask me why I don't powerlift. What's the deal???
 
and not to hi-jack this thread. i saw a guy yesterday doing his deads while standing on a bench... i can only assume so that he could go farther down... clever really since he isn't the brightest bulb in the lamp.
 
I don't have this problem but an ex lifting partner did. He would scrape his so bad they would bleed. He managed to stop it by wrapping his shins up.

Well if it isnt in your heart then dont do it. But I have told you several times that you could total Elite in the 148's in less than 2 years.....easily :)

theres no rule that says you are required to be a fat ass to be a powerlifter. In fact there was one lady lifting in Daytona last weekend. She must have been close to 40 and she was RIPPED to the bone...and she was strong too..won her class.

But like I said....its got to be something that you want to do.

BTW, the world record holder for women is ripped as shit. That girl is also freaky as shit lol

Id personally stick with the bodybuilding, especially if your in it for the look
