Do some people benefit from strained race relations?

I have heard some people bring this issue up
On the net.
Some say the media purposely focuses on trayvon type type issues because it can help them (the companies that control the media) in some way. Does Obama some how get a boost in the polls in these circumstances? Is it a way to confuse the public so they do not focus on the actual issues going on in the country?

Of course I would have. I wouldn't have had a choice.

But if you had put me in a field working against my will for someone else full-time, I definitely would have wished for a time machine.

And here's my point:

If I had been taken against my will and dropped of on a plantation, I would have been begging for a time machine about the time I hit the field. And that would apply to blacks and whites.

So yes, I'm willing to bet there was a period where blacks said: "man, I wish I had a time machine".

On a related note, on the way back from NOLA, me and GF stopped at a rest stop in lousyana and the womens restroom was shutdown. So i snuck her into a mens stall while i pissed at a urinal and she said there was a hole cut out of the side wall seperating the stalls. I asked her if there was any writing and she said yea, it said for a good suck stick it in here. That was the first and last time Ive ever heard of an actual glory hole somewhere, and of course it was in lousyana.

You're assuming the machine leaves you in the same place. I'm assuming the machine takes you back to both the location AND time desired.
