Do I have heart problems? or is this normal?

It seems that whenever I start really 'working out' and getting my heart rate up to about 140 or so that I start to feel sick, and nauseous and then my vision starts to black out. If I push it a little more my body will start to go numb and my extremities will tingle as well as my chest will get really tight as well as my breathing will become tough, not to mention I feel like puking worse then when I have the flu. I will also have no energy to walk hardly, as well as my vision is usually blacking out by this point. The effects are usually felt days afterwards through my chest feeling really tight and me feeling 'weaker' then usual. Oh another thing, when the heart/cardio episode happens usually I will lose hearing in either one, or both ears, and when it does start to return it sounds like the 'snow' channel on TV or a light test tone pattern sound.

Does anyone know if this is normal and perhaps my cardio is just really out of shape? Or perhaps I have a condition?

Its happened form time to time when I played ball..but only after hours of running......

do you take an eca?

if so that might be it........

if its not see a doctor.......and then start on some sort of regular cardiovascular execise....you need a base of that before you venture into the weight room

Well, I'm not sure what an ECA is, but I doubt i'm on it. I have been lifting weights for about 8 weeks now, and doing light cardio. I have a stress test next week so I guess i'll find out then. But it really does worry me. Gosh it would be sad if I was that out of shape. :(

I think you need to have a dr. to check you out.
Just to be on the safe side.. :)

Umm dude, you may have problem with your heart. Maybe a hole or valve problem. Get it checked out asap.

Also depending on your age and previous fitness level you may be pushing it WAY too hard and your heart needs to adapt as it may be weak and in time it will adapt, but you will have to slow down. I used to get the tunnel vision and some of the simptoms you describe the first time i did deadlifts for high reps, but in time i adapted and it never happened again.

I could be that you heart and lung capacity need time to adapt.

Don't look for advice on your heart on a message board get your ass to the doctor asap.

Sounds like your already seeing the doc, but if you want some answers from the internet, you can get some good replies at
healthboards.com on the heart discussion boards/forums.

Good luck.

Thanks guys for all the replies! Well, like I said before, I have a stress test next friday.

Also, i'm 21 years olde, 5'10" 248 lbs. And I've been having the problems on and off for about a year but recently since I've been trying to do cardio its been tough. I'll push myself a little if I know that its not a heart problem, but I have to make sure first. Who knows, I may just need to get in shape. :)
