A friend invited me to go to Charleston for the weekend, all expenses paid except food. I could use a weekend away, but I really can't afford a trip right now. Do I say screw it and go anyway, or do I be conservative and say no thank you?

Yep, I don't have to pay hotel or gas...just any food. Actually, there was an offer to loan me money for that if I needed it, but I hate taking loans.
 
if it's really free...and not something you have to pay back....take it.

Charleston in mid august...hell ya!
 
If you want to go, then go. Eat cheap, buy groceries while there. If for some reason you do not want to go, then don't.

In the same boat as you. Cousin wants me to go up with him to Pensacola. He's already going up to help put an engine and transmission and some other car lingo I have no idea of. Problem is my family is big and we lump birthdays together ever few months to save on the hassle. Naturally this weekend I was going to go they are holding all the birthdays from July to August together which means I would be a dick for not showing up to a party partly for me.

Sleep on it, you'll have a better idea of what you want to do tomarrow.

I would probably not go due to the hurricane
 
If the weather looks alright then you should most definitely go. If the weather is going to be bad, you don't want to be caught dead there!

Well, I didn't know about the storms. I just thought you were saying, "Oh you should check the weather, lalalala." Well, maybe not with the "lalalala" but you get my drift.

Now that's a nice offer! I could use some pampering too if you don't mind.

This Charleston trip looked so inviting, but I'd rather not go down there and get blown away. lol
 
You don't want to be in Charleston during a storm. The streets flood real easy and it makes getting around an adventure. :(

I like adventure but not that kind. Especially if you're not going to be around to come rescue me. :worried:
 
You should just drop everything and come to Texas to see me... no expenses paid though. It would be with it.

Being in Charleston during a storm isn't fun, but being on Folly beach as a storm goes by is kind of fun. There is something about seeing the ocean, wind and rain that is very romantic. Of course the romance part disappears fast if the winds hit above 75 or 80. :worried:
