Do Crunches actually work??

I understand that you will not have abs without low body fat.. However It seems like i have everything in check diet/ workout.. Just curious if they are worth doing everyday or not.. Opinions.. Also Anything good to slim down obliques?

THANKS!

LOL you got them

I would suggest losing bodyfat first so you can see them! Doing ab exercises will not make you have a 6 pack. You already have a 6 pack, you just cant see it under the fat/water. Lose that and you will see them

But you should still work out abs to develop a strong core and to make them bigger. Do some hanging knee raises, planks, hanging leg raises, deadlifts and squats. Lose BF is most important though

Your abs are there and I am sure they are well develloped you just can't see them. Since you can't spot reduce fat, you have to lose overall all body fat. Do some cardio 3-4 times a week, running, biking, swimming whatever you like. Just keep at it and you will see results not only on you abdomen but all over your body. You will have a leaner look and your all your muscles will be more well defined.

Best regards,
Immel

More cardio and diet!

crunches are anaerobic. as you do them you burn sugar and build up lactic acid. thats the burning sensation you get. this keeps you from being able to do them long enough to really help burn fat to see them. ab exercises are crucial in building a strong core. but in the end bro, the only way to get that six pack is cardio and diet. its all about low body fat.

Diet and cardio. Ab exercises are always good to do to keep your core strong. Crunches are great but I would add some weghted exercises also. You want a strong core so you can lift harder. I do side bends for my obliques if anything at all. I have a naturally thick waist so doing any oblique exercises with weights is out of the question since I dont want to apear any blockier than I am. I would say if your naturaly lean and have a narrow waist then weigthed obliques are fine. If you are thick like me then just weightless side bends or trunk twists with a bar should be fine. Again it's 80% diet. Then cardio and keep your water intake high and your sodium intake low.
