DNP Question

Does anyone know the actual difference between the DNP crystals people take and the DNPH. 2,4-DINITROPHENYL HYDRAZINE. I thought the DNPH was only a solution of DNP in 30% water.

the dnph is a moist solid that contains a min of 30% water usually

dnp is shipped in 30% water solution, to prevent it from explouding. The powder must be first dried before capping. Dnp crystal has the identical chemical structure to dnp powder but it is missing a hydrogen from its hydroxide group, one can make crystal from powder by reacting powder dnp with some sodium.

So should i try to convert the DNPH into the right kind of DNP, or would i risk something toxic to myself.

Have you used DNP before? If not, I'd recommend staying with the powder. Crystal leaves you much less room for error. Both will work, but the crystal is more soluble so it hits you harder and faster. One kind isn't more "right" than another IMO though.
