DNP & Adderall - POSSIBLE INTERACTION

I just completed 7 days of my second DNP cycle. The first cycle was months ago and I decided to do another round. I restarted my adderall for my ADHD two days ago (I havent been taking it for months now) but I am wandering if there is possibly an interaction issue.

I didnt have any reactions the first cycle I did (7 days, 200 mg powder) and I didnt have any reactions this time (second cycle I used DNP from a more reliable source) until I started taking Adderall XR 25 mg once a day. I dont know if it is a coincidence or not but I have welts all over my body and cant stop itching. The itching started early morning but I didnt think anything of it until around 11 am today, I looked in the mirror and saw welts everywhere I was scratching. Now the welts have spread to my entire lower back and bum, I had to remove my ring from my right ring finger because I had a welt that was itching like a motha, now the finger is swollen to the point I fill like I need to drain liquid out of it. I took 50 mg of Benadryl around 12pm and went to sleep but woke up with the welts on my back. I took another 50mg of Benadryl around 8pm when I got to work but I am itching like a crack fiend.

I dont have allergies and I know I didnt eat anything out of the ordinary or touch anything that would cause this. We do have a gnat/fruit fly issue in my office, I am reaching here because I am worried.

Any help is appreciated.

are you sure you havn't takin any other meds, spoiled foods or possible spider bite?


I never experiene hives (or what your describing) during any DNP runs, but I wouldn't doubt at all that DNP caused some part of it.

I would check up with a doc maing, jmo

hey Jared,

thx for the reply but I am sure I haven't been stung by anything or eating any spoiled foods etc. I was going to see what happens tomorrow and then judge whether or not to go to the doctor. I wouldnt know what to say if they ran test and they saw how yellow my urine is. I know they have to use a specific test but I am still a bit paranoid as it is not the most friendliest of things I was using.

Can you share some of your experiences with me as to how you dosed and dieted while using DNP? This is only my 2nd time. I think my the first round were duds because I definitely noticed things alot more this time around.

Allergic reaction to something in the DNP. Happens a lot. Most people choose to run it with benadryl.

DNP will definately do that. Taking an antihistamine can help dramatically.

It shouldn't be an interaction between the two. It definitely is an allergic reaction and it most likely is the DNP. You can have an allergic reaction to anything anytime even if you have never had one before. And the chances of an allergic reaction increase with continued use. Like the second dose of antibiotics would usually be more likely to cause and allergic reaction than the first dose. You get exposed to it once, and react to it the second time. I would - only this once - bump the Benadryl to 100mg and stop the DNP. Go to the doctor so that you can get some prednisone. If this reaction keeps progressing, you can't start to have anaphylactic reactions which would include your throat closing up or passing out and swelling up like a blow fish. Allergic reactions aren't anything to fool around with.

Take Benadryl Asap - I got what you speak of one time when I injected something that wasn't sterile (I think it had dust in it or something)... taking the benadryl made it go away pretty quick.

Hey grad,

I got the "rxn" after my seven days which means it started on day 8 when i restarted my adderall again. I know DNP buildes up in your system. I am taking benadryl and will try upping it to 75 mg. What can I tell the doctor if/when I go to avoid telling him about my DNP use.

Tell him you ate some shellfish and broke out into those hives. Ask about the max daily use (prescription level) of benadryl. If you get the prednisone you might not have to take it if upping the benadryl works. Maybe even just a shot of methylprednisolone can knock it out. Someone that has used DNP should answer whether or not you should keep taking it though. It could be that the hives are the worst you will experience and you can keep going.

Actually again I think I would stop if I were you. Just reading about DNP right here on EF and it said that upon realization of an allergic reaction the dnp must be stopped right away. Go to the doc and tell him you had a reaction to shrimp and lobster and get some prednisone and look to using albuterol, t3, or some other stim for weight loss. Actually, be carefull with those and adderall combined.

Go to the doc and tell him you had a reaction to shrimp and lobster and get some prednisone and look to using albuterol, t3, or some other stim for weight loss. Actually, be carefull with those and adderall combined.

Thanks grad, I am no longer taking it. My last dose was on saturday and the hives/welts started on sunday. I completed 7 days without any issues (except for the expected sweats and cravings)
