disposing of needles and syringes

where do you guys throw away all your used needles and syringes? is there a specific place to take them?

I put all mine in an empty protein container and then throw them out when it gets full.

I actually use one of the hospital disposal containers that is located at a bud's house. I only put the needles in this disposal unit and throw the syringe in the trash.

I hand them out to little kids at the school behind my house,but in October, I save all of my pins and stick them in apples and candy, I think these are the 2 safest ways of disposing needles

I use a pair of heavy-duty scissors to cut the needles up into several pieces so that nobody sticks themselves on them. I usually cut the barrel up too. I then just put it inside a piece of trash and throw it away in the dumpster near my work.

This is going to sound stupid, but I take mine over to a gas station and chunk them in the trash after filling up.

I put them inside an empty 24 oz water bottle and screw the cap up and toss it out.

I work at a place that has a sharps container, that's where mine goes! Just don't dispose of them in a way someone else could get stuck! Placing them in a can or bottle is a good idea.

this is how I do it...

cut up the pins with wire cutters into small pieces and throw them into the trash. Save the pumps and burn them up in a metal can in my back yard every so often. Nothing left to hurt anybody or trace to me.

In my parnoid time....

I used to use a wire cutter to break the needles into small pieces and put the whole deal into a aluminum-foil lined measuring cup. Put in the oven for 450 for a while, it melts into a big lump of goo.

Let cool, pull out and finish wrapping with foil. Dump in trash. Nobody gets the needle or risk of infection. Hard to tell what it was or what was in it.
