testcyp007----everything went great this was the second batch i have made......USE THE STRAW METHOD to crush the pellets, i keep the little piece of clear plastic stopper on top, to block the other rows and just line the row i want to slide into the straw with the mouth of the straw, slide a couple of rows into the straw, and crush the pelletes, then repeat until the pack is empty.........this will probably make more sense when you get your kits and fina......p.m me if you need any help.......print the instructions off www.gotfina.com and have them right there next 2 you when you are cooking!!! good luck man

Mr. T's directions make a superior finished product and a higher yield. Basically the same procedure, but no crushing and no heating. It just requires a little more patience.

Yes, it takes 18 to 24 hours depending on how many carts. The settling takes longer, too. But you end up with a very small layer of white residue in the bottom and clear product above. Heat causes oxidation, hence the red/brown goop with the other methods. Filtering is much easier.

IMO, The best methods for the beginners are to use the coffee filter. It pretty much guarentees that you won't clog the Whatman syringe filter. The main problem of newbies.

i think i will try this way next time, i have never really liked the way the red residue takes so long to settle.......maybe it's me, but
i have to keep boiling it and letting it settle to the bottom becuase it doesn't really seperate well.......maybe i was just to impatient?

im so confused, the kit i have dosent havethe screw tops, mine are the vials, but i hear all these statements, i dont know which way to use, can some you tell me whats the best way, i have a 4g kits with 2 carts, please help, i started this post and have gotten great info, but now im confused which one to use

the empty one .. do not.. I repeat do not remove the metal cap around the rubber top.

the other 2 you have to remove the caps.

the empty one will be for your finished product.
the oil can be removed
the dissolving solution has to be ..just to get the pellets into the vial...remove this one first.. so that you can add the pellets awhile

ok thanks, but what i was saying is that the kit i got came with 3 vial with sealed tops, i know i dont wana open the empty one cause thats the one for my finished product, but do i take the tops off the other ones tht have the oil and magic sollution in it, let me know, thanks

2 with screw off tops, and 1 with regular sealed metal rim and rubber stopper, correct?

dude.. he stated that he didn't have the screw off type.. He said they all have metal caps.. How do you suppose he is going to put the pellets in the one vial ????
