Direct Tv P4 cards

anybody got theirs yet? looks like the 3's no longer cover most of the 600 channels, porn,or ppv and my dad being a dumbass didnt listen to me when I said they will be going up in price soon.

they are 200 bucks a piece now.anybody getting them cheaper? or were you all smart and got one a few months ago?

How long do they last? I was under the impression they get ECM`ed every couple days/weeks.

Considering I pay $70-$100 month for sat, $200 is worth it. lol Then I could watch the damn UFC without worrying about what the boss says.

I think the p3 cards have been up for a couple years, not certain though, the p4's should last a few year, but as of now no programming is out for them and until it is all of us Direct Tv borrowers wont have tv

I should have also mentioned they are 200 cdn so cheaper for the guys in the states

could be,but I live in canada so I cant get them here, but if you already pay for dtv just cancel and if you own the system its yours,so buy a programmer and your set

i've just recently discovered this tragedy.

Oak, let me know when and where you get your new card, and i'll do the same for you.

I might know a couple guys who can hook us up.

you got a pm bro,if your deal turns out better then that let me know, but so far he is the cheapest I can find, apparently they doubled in price everywhere else since last night and we are numbered to two week with the current 3's before they totally shut down

yeah i'll let you know some time tomorrow.

Becareful guys, I've been writting code for these since 97-98.....

The P4 buy may not turn out to be the deal you think it is. The p5 card has been out for awhile, and offers much higher encryption. Don't be shocked when you find Dave has gone straight to the p5, and left you hopefuls paying out the nose for a card you will never get to use.

......just an old hack's view.

there's no programming for the p4 yet?

if so, you think it'll happen soon?

hard to say when it could come out, like fireball said we may never get them, its really whenever someone decides to leak the stuff out

firebaal does the p5 cards need a different programmer then the 3's?

After DirecTv sent me 2 new P-4 cards, I had to install and reinstall them into the receiver, switch back and forth with the new /old cards a couple of time as the on-screen menu suggested. Did that "wipe out" any chance of my old P-3 cards to be written on? I`m guessing YES.

Also I have in addition to 2 Old P-3 cards 2 old H-cards that were BS`ed. Are they any good for use? I was thinking of mailing them to someone... because I don`t program. I got 2, you can have one if you want for programming the other.

cards need to be programmed everytime they are hit, which can be quite often,as for the 3's and the h card,I dont believe either are any good once the change to the 4'5/5's are made

modchipit.com sells programmers and you can buys the codes from someone and they just email the files to you,but they still arent certain if the old programmers will work for the 4's/5's yet so I would hold off making any moves until they sort out how this will all work

One of the many variables that can determine the use or non use of a programmer is the frequency of the oscillator on the programmer. Nobody really knows what is needed to glitch into the newer cards ( except the boys who make the cards ).

And this is just one of the stumbling blocks. Know keep in mind, I remember the unloopers for the original H cards, they were $50,000 USD and up. Now stop and think what the new programmers are going to cost. ;)

Whoever has the hacks ( and yes, I believe some do ), they want to make as much $$$ as possible first, before joe public has access to them.

I agree, its going to get quite pricey,Im considering buying a box that hooks up to 4 different satellites up to it with no scripts or cards ever needed, and it costs less then what I paid for the direct set up I have now,and you can choose from 60 diff dish systems to use, just pick 4 and your set

.

depends on how you run it. but most programs out for the average joe only last weeks or so.

isn't it cheaper just to go buy a new direct unit and get the p4 card and keep it???

when you buy new recievers, you only get the card when you subscribe from what i understand.
