Digital Camera - anything else I need?

I want to get a digital camera. I'm thinking about the Olympus 3030 because it's good in low light. It's a lot cheaper than the newer 3040 and has most of the same features for what I'm needing. Any other suggestions?

Is there anything else I need to get with it? Special software, etc? I want to be able to upload pictures.

I eventually would like to get a better printer (still have an old bubblejet - not even color ), one I can print decent pictures with - any recommendations?

I have an Olympus 600L everthing you need for your computer is in the box. I did buy a Flash path disk and software because my camera uses SmartMedia that way you can down load pictures on any computer. the web page is www.smartdisk.com if use that type of memory for your camera

Got it a few years back, paid about 460.00 for it was only rated to 4mb memory but you can use 8mb. for a 100.00 you can up grade to 16mb. I stayed with 8mb. It's cheaper and get about 36 pics on one memory card at HQ. Eats batteries like crazy. Need to use Lithium(sp?) and they last longer. Great camera over all

i have the olympus 2040. It's very good in low light.

get some rechargable batteries, and you might wanna pick up a bigger memory card. i got a 128mb card from costco for 59 bucks

HP Photo Smart 1000 - Printer

Prints like a dream and you can put the memory card right into the printer and print what you want or print everything like a contact sheet.

IT ROCKS

and you can get one for $189 US dollars.

(you could also spend more and get a model one or two notches higher.)


Oh and with Olympus - you can get a flash path adapter that you put the memory car into and it works just like a floppy disk.
