Digital Cable Telephone?

I know vonage, etc.

But my charter comm. company sent me a $39 offer to get digial telephone. And get this : SAME phone #.

Unlimited calls US & Canada.

I already got digital cable, so i might even save more money.

I can then get rid of my dsl/telephone service. Save me $100 easy.

Opinions? I never have power outages and i make a lot of calls during the day/night for work.

Go for it bro, im in NYC and have Digital Cable, Digi-Phone, and Cable Internet access for $99, but the phone only is $29.99, same deal as you, i kept the number and unlimited calls in US and Canada, even puerto-rico is free...

timewarner offers this in my area also....works great as far as i know!! a lot of times they give you better deals when you get multiple services from them

Read the fine print. For Brighthouse aka time warner, it states that once you sign up, you forfeit all privacy rights for any digital service that you have ie: cable, phone etc. This means that they have given the gov't full access to any and all info that you talk or surf about

Vonage goes through your digital cable, cost $25/month, unlimited calling anywhere in the US, you get to keep your local number, you can have voicemail forwarded to your email . . . has tons of features like call forwarding, caller ID, call waiting, 3 way calling, all for $25/month . . . how is $39/month better?

Knock themselves out. and when they're bored out of their skulls -- they can come to my house for biscuits.

Also see if in the fine print it says any thing about early termination fee.. if you dont like the service you could end up paying up to 200 dollars to shut it off......

However, the technology to trace voip calls is not in place. It is not possible as of today. In a traditional POTS call a dedicated link is created between each party and all packets travel that route. With a voip call each packet can take any number of routes from point A to B, so you can't tap into some point in the middle and get the whole conversation.

Because the $39 includes digital cable modem internet cost. And with digital cable getting a discount -- it'll be cheaper than entire cable digital package PLUS vonage fee. Follow me?
